So much of the medical industry relies on the behind-the-scenes work done by medical administrative professionals and records specialists, like medical billers and insurance coders. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, this in-demand profession is expected to grow 7% through 2030 — faster than the average for all occupations — and have around 14,900 job openings project each year.*

When you attend the Medical Billing and Insurance Coding program at Summit College, you’ll get hands-on training in the fundamentals of medical insurance claims, patient billing and payments, and proper coding of medical procedures and services. You’ll round everything out with a 160-hour externship that will allow you to practice your skills in a real-world healthcare setting. The MBIC program is offered as a hybrid program, offering the flexibility of online and on-campus classes.
