The welding program at Summit College will train you with the skills you need to hit the ground running after graduation. We do everything we can to help prepare you for the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety Certifications (Didactic) Testing to get you certified after graduation. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that the Welding profession will grow by 14,500 jobs from 2018-2028.*

When you attend the Welding program at Summit College, you’ll get hands-on training that is focused on understanding the welding fundamentals. This includes but is not limited to metal cutting, brazing, metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and welding safety. By the end of the program you’ll be trained on all of the necessary areas that employers are looking for in their first-round picks.

Real-World Experience

Summit College’s Welding Program is a member of the American Welding Society (AWS) and approved by the Los Angeles Department of Building & Safety (LADBS) as a testing agent.

The comprehensive curriculum provides a variety of core courses and specialized training designed to give students a complete understanding of the elements required in different areas of the welding field.

Our curriculum provides 600 hours of lab-based, hands-on training that gives you valuable, experience a in real-life environment such as so you can hit the ground running upon graduation.
